I’m on the hunt for users that know how to work their way around sprawling, massive codebases, and tightly integrated systems.

Here on 420chan we use a fairly large variety of languages and technologies, including but not limited to PHP, Perl, and Java. A massive rewrite has been underway for the past 18 months in my spare time, but we need additional skilled developers because I am unfortunately a very busy person. And trust me, when I say we have a massive codebase, I mean it.

The Random Name Generator on /mtv/ – Movies & Television has been updated with related names.

While I was at it, I changed the names list on /b/ – Random & High Stuff to utilize every board-specific name list.

Have fun with that!

Getting the rest of these icons squared away and in place is quite important; there are some large changes and updates in development and we want to make sure all the little presentational issues and “missing parts” are taken care of.

Some of our newer users may not even realize that board icons were mostly a community effort. Have at it!

We’re one week into the full launch of the Taima Shop, and we’ve officially sold out our initial stock! All North American orders placed before September 5 have been shipped, international orders will be shipped out tomorrow (Sept 7) alongside orders that were placed tonight. We’ll be re-stocked and fulfilling new orders in around 2 weeks, possibly sooner.

What’s next? Coffee mugs, shot glasses, and more. We’re working on new merchandise as quickly as we can afford to, so if you want to see more variety in our selection sooner, then help out by buying some stickers!

Also worth mentioning is I’ve been in discussion with the original artist of our adopted mascot TCC-tan, and she’s interested in producing original merchandise with new art!

If your browser starts screaming at you when you navigate to the boards, Google’s been fucking up the last week and triggering false positives. Safari, Chrome, and Firefox all use Google’s shared system. In reality there is nothing wrong whatsoever (confirmed by Google engineers and their own tools via lengthy and angry correspondence). The messages have been coming and going for a few days now.

You can either click through the warnings incessantly or disable the useless “Safe Browsing” check. Your choice.

UPDATE: We are no longer utilizing Google Analytics or GoogleAPI services because of the recent shenanigans. We are now using in-house solutions.

The front page and boards will be offline for the majority of the day.

Loskene was so excited to use his front page access that there was a misunderstanding during a discussion amongst staff.

He thought we were adding new boards when the wildcard was being discussed. He was rather confused when we corrected him. That is all.

Hello chaps and chapettes, your friendly admin Loskene here with a little update for you.

In the past couple of days we’ve started restructuring the boards a little, some have been removed, some moved to different categories, and some are going to be added in the future.

What’s going to be added? Well we don’t know yet, and that’s where you come in. We’re currently taking suggestions for new trial boards to replace ones that are being shuffled into proper categories, so if you want to have a hand in the future of the site, you’ll want to check out this thread right here.

That has the full details of the board changes, and you can add your own two cents in too if you have a good idea.
